NPP’s Ejisu Chairman’s House Gutted By Fire. Information reaching us suggests that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) chairman for Ejisu, Samuel Oduro Frimpong’s house has been gutted by fire.
According to an eyewitness at the scene of the incident, the fire started from the room of one of the daughters of Mr. Frimpong and quickly spread to adjoining rooms consequently consuming the whole house.
However, the other tenants of the house were alerted on time to flee to safety but unfortunately for them, they couldn’t save their belongings. Not even the use of fire extinguishers could help douse the fire from developing beyond control.
A tenant, Prince Aquah told JoyNews in an interview that even though they later called Fire Service to intervene, their presence did little since the fire had already ravaged the 7-bedroom apartment before the arrival of the firefighters.
“By the time that they (Fire Service) came, fire has engulfed the whole house,” says Mr. Ofori. The victim, Samuel Frimpong who spoke to JoyNews’ Ohemeng Tawiah stated that he suspected the fire was deliberate from his opponents.
According to him, he had received threats from members of his party after he had campaigned for the party’s parliamentary candidate for Ejisu, John Ampontuah Kumah. He said the arsonists might have carried through their threats to deal with him and promised to lodge official complaint with the police.
“I will say it is connected to the primaries; it is internal something. After the primaries, they said a lot about me because I had to help Lawyer John Kumah to become the MP. They threatened me that they were going to deal with me so I am not surprised to see what I am seeing,” he told JoyNews.
Meanwhile, the Fire Service has declined to comment on the matter. NPP’s Ejisu Chairman’s House Gutted By Fire.
