Sarkodie Apologizes To President Akuffo Addo Over Happy Day Tweet. Rapper, Sarkodie has apologized to President Akuffo Addo over a comment he made about him on Twitter several months ago. Prior to the 2020 elections, Sarkodie released the hit song titled โHappy Dayโ which featured Highlife singer, Kuami Eugene. In the song, Sarkodie made some references to President Akuffo Addoโs slogans by saying โNana Toasoโ which literally translates as โcontinue, Nana and โThe Battle Is Still The Lordโsโ.
A lot of Ghanaians, after hearing the line in the song, then concluded that the rapper had endorsed Akufo-Addo for another term. The president then reacted to the song in a tweet describing it as a โnice songโ while repeating a line in the song.
However, Sarkodie responded in a tweet that he didnโt praise the president in the song.
He wrote;
โNana M3nfa bronya ho nre akoko oo lool !! ๐๐พ when I say aban ( all parties ) Shouts to yourself x JM but if I feel like pointing out the negatives too you know how we do ๐ ๐๐พ๐ฌ๐ญ #HappyDayโ
Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty earlier today, Sarkodie apologized for the tweet saying; โI want to use this opportunity to apologize to President Akufo Addo. I didnโt mean it in a harmful way. I just wanted to make a lighter situation out of the issue.โ
